Beetle jelly splitter II
Beetle jelly cutter II. This little device allows
you to split 16g beetle jelly cups in two.
Not only does it save you on insect jelly
but it is also very handy for feeding large species
who sometimes have trouble getting to the food
due to their long horns.
Especially useful for Lucanidae and Dynastidae.

Beetle breeding cases
These light and crystal clear aquariums are widely used in Japan
to keep adult pet beetles.
The patented filters on top of the terrarium cover keep even small
Drosophila fruit flies out.
Just like with the kinshi pots, the crystal clear material
allows for a perfect view of the insects.
The closed cover prevents beetles from escaping and keeps
more moisture inside compared to classic plastic aquariums.
As an added benefit the design of the cover protects stag beetles
and other horned beetles from getting stuck in openings
like with classic fish aquariums.
Alternatively these boxes can be used for all kinds of spiders,
mantids and other invertebrates.
The clever design of these boxes, made by a an expert Japanese
beetle breeder is patented.

Kinshi pots with filter
These light and unbreakable pots are widely used in Japan
to keep beetle larva.
Thanks to the clear transparent material the growth and evolution
of the larva as well as the pupa can be followed all the time!
For species requiring kinshi (mushroom mycelium),
these bottles are first filled with sawdust,
sterilized and then inoculated with the mushroom strain needed.
When the mushroom mycelium has filled the bottle
a small hole is made in the top of the substrate.
A single larva is put in the cavity and the pot is closed again.
In the next few weeks the larva will eat the mycelium and grow quickly.
We have the following sizes of pots available:
| Rond clear S kinshi pot 0.5 L, screw type lid with filter | 2.00 pc, sold per 10. |
| Rond clear M kinshi pot 0.8 L, screw type lid with filter | 2.70 pc, sold per 10. |

Trehalose sugar - Additives
occurring in a variety of plants, fungi, insects and
bacteria.
In the food industry trehalose is used in products like beverages,
bakery goods, fruit jam and breakfast cereals...
Japanese beetle breeders claim significant benefits in using
trehalose for their pet insect breeding.
Some seem to use it in their fermented flake soil
others add it to their beetle jelly manufacturing
or sprinkle it on top of the fruits.
Now available in limited quantities for testing.

Silkworm cocoons protein - Additives
or silkworm chrysalis.
Dried silkworm cocoons are the byproduct of silk production.
The leftover cocoons are used as food
steamed, fried or in a soup.
More commonly the cocoons are exported as
koi or fish food additives due to their high protein content.
Typically 52-55% protein, 28% fat,
10% moisture, 4% ash, 2% fiber.
Obviously the natural and high protein percentage
is a real benefit for growing big L2-L3 larva.
Just put a small tablespoon of the cocoons,
idealy grinded into powder or crushed in crumbles,
in the substrate.
Repeat when completely eaten.
